This Christmas, our team has chosen to support Leeds-based charity, Canopy for a second year. Canopy empowers people who are homeless to transform empty houses in Leeds into homes and to become part of a community.

The team at Canopy have recently started work on a 3 bedroomed Victorian house in the Hyde Park, Burley area of Leeds, which will become a beautiful spacious family home with front and back gardens.

The volunteers have taken the existing plaster off all the walls in preparation for the insulation. They plan to use wood fibre insulation, covered in lime plaster, for a low-carbon, breathable solution.

With a retrofit coordinator starting in the new year the team will be installing a low carbon heating system. The charity plans to engage a family who is homeless or in housing need to help retrofit their new home.
